2020 Yukon-Wide Telephone Survey Report

In November of 2008, the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board contracted DataPath Systems to conduct market research as part of a broader strategy project, entitled “Vision 2020”. This one component was to conduct a survey of a random representative sample of Yukoners to gain insights into their attitudes toward fish and wildlife issues in the Yukon.
For this project a telephone and online panel of Yukon resident’s opinion survey was conducted between Nov 16 and Dec 2, 2008. A total of 311 completes – 160 in Whitehorse and 147 outside of Whitehorse (4 refused to report community) were completed. The data was then weighted by community, gender, and age to represent the actual population.
The report is divided into 6 sections:
- Outdoor Activities
- Values and Concerns
- Decision Making
- Tourism
- Why Yukoners live here
- Demographics
All comments are listed in the Appendix.
